Sun Kissed Maternity Photo Session in a Field

This outdoor maternity session in a secluded field in Blue Ash, OH was very special for this pregnant first time mom. She grew up in the Blue Ash neighborhood and frequented this secluded field to play and hang out with friends. When we were decided on the location for her maternity photo shoot, she offered up this hidden Cincinnati gem without hesitation. She wanted a location that was special to her. When clients choose location that is meaningful to them or to bring back a memory from the past, it makes my job as a photographer even better. The photos have even more importance to them. They really start to tell the family’s story!

The secluded field is next to University of Cincinnati’s Blue Ash campus. We started by following the path to go deeper into the wooden area. The client wanted a sunny photo session Shade in the foreground and a sunny spot in the back was perfect. The sun brought warmth and brightness.

The pregnant mama wore blue dress, which was a great contrast against the green grass and sun lit background.

Outdoor maternity sessions are great for just about any time of the year. I love photographing outside because the natural light is so pleasing to skin tones. Plus, you end up with some gorgeous backdrops like green foliage, beautiful blue skies, colorful Fall leaves, or even white snow.

I loved working with this pregnant mama-to-be to create beautiful images of her pregnancy in a location that was sentimental to her. She was a pleasure to chat with and get to know better. Photography is one of her hobbies so we talked a lot about photography during our photo session. It helped her to relax and be more comfortable. I love how these photographs tell her story – where she has come from and where she is going.
